Yeah Big up Burning Spear for winning the Reggae Grammy Award. Those guys have been around for a long time and they really deserve it. Good clean reggae music... which is different from dancehall.. it is, its obvious. The genre is relatively small and I would want to think that now-a-days you have more dancehall acts than reggae acts.. and the numbers for dancehall are increasing ever since the success of Shabba Ranks etc...
So Burning Spear keep the spear burning looking forward to more great stuff from the legend.

Rampin Shop.. again and again
Dancehall known for its violent, sexual explicit content is being battered at the moment with this Rampin shop debate. Vybz Kartel the chief architect for this song has responded with a gleaner article more directed at Ms Tyson who wrote the article that lead to the debate and demise of the Rampin shop and the daggering component of the dancehall.
Kartel seem to be now in a 'new war' and chances are we will be getting some songs out of him about this whole issue. The DJ ceased the opportunity to lash out at the critics about their stance on other forms of slackness in the society and that the critics should turn their attention to these areas, lightbulb scandal and these things.

The ban on the song and daggering continue to get a lot accolades... but the debate is expanding to Carnival and Soca music.

Well anyway you take it these things should be reserved from the kids.. so do what have to do so that the kids have no access to these things, some say this is almost impossible. They should leave these things so that adults who want to hear...let them hear... dont stamp out the whole thing and end up not leaving any means of access to those who want to hear it. A mean the Caribbean has been known for its appetite for x-rated and pornographic material.. well Jamaica and Trinidad to be exact
